OBIA Naturals Pt 1: Body

Howdy guys and gals! Remember when I attended the HueAffair Tour back in May and spent the day working with OBIA Naturals as a Brand Ambassador and received a ton of products in exchange for my honest review and opinion?! Well, I had received so many products that I had no idea where to start, so in order to keep myself organized I have decided to split up my reviews into a three part series of their products: Pt 1-Body, Pt 2-Cleansers and Conditioners, & last but not least, Pt 3-Moisturizers and Stylers. This week we’ll be delving into Pt 1-Body with the Kokum Moisturizing Lotion along with the Obol Royal Body Oil.

"Founded and formulated by trained chemist Obia Ewah, OBIA Naturals produces vegan natural hair and body care products fortified with natural ingredients."

Kokum Moisturizing Lotion

Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate and Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Btyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter Oil, Garcinia Indica (Kokum) Butter, Gluconoactone and Sodium Benzoate, Lavandula Officinalis (Lavender) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E), Phthalate-Free Fragrance (Parfum)

I don't even know where to begin with this lotion; it has so many cool contradictions that it makes my head spin. First of all, the lotion itself is extremely thick, so thick that I have too keep it upside-down in order to get it out of the bottle to use it. Second of all, when it finally does come out of the bottle it has a very lightweight, airy texture to it. And third of all, when I apply it to my skin it feels as though I'm rubbing water into my skin but when I touch the area I applied the lotion to compared to an area where I didn't, it feels moisturized! Like How?!

This lotion definitely took some getting used to because I have honestly never felt anything like it before; it's thick, yet lightweight, feels thin, but moisturizes. See it's contradictory right?! But I must say I enjoy using this lotion; it absorbs easily into the skin and I don't spend eons rubbing it in like I do with most lotions. Compared to the Obol Royal Body Oil the lotion has a light, almost unnoticeable fragrance so it's perfect for people with sensitive skin who can't handle overly fragrant products. I would say the moisture lasted up until I washed my hands or my body. I love pairing this lotion with the body oil for an added kick of hydration.

Free from mineral oil, petroleum, sulfates, parabens. Cruelty free.
Obol Royal Body Oil

Ingredients: Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter Oil, Camelina Sativa Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E), Phthalate-Free Fragrance (Parfum)

This oil leaves my skin irresistibly soft without that gross "oily" feel. Much like the lotion, the oil absorbs quickly into my skin without leaving its greasy tracks behind. I love using this oil after I've applied the Kokum Moisturizing Lotion because it adds an extra layer of hydration, plus the smell of this oil is so divine! It has a sweet candy-like aroma that gives off a playful, yet innocent vibe. My only gripe about this oil is that it's only 4oz! I find it to be pretty concentrated though so it should last me a fairly long time.

Price: $10.00
