Hey lovelies, it's Keah back at it again with another review! Today our focus will be on the Neem Tea Tree Shampoo Bar and the Babassu Detangling Conditioner by OBIA Naturals. This is part 2 of my three part OBIA Naturals hair product review series: Cleansers and Conditioners. Neem Tea Tree Shampoo Bar

Ingredients: Saponified Oils of Avocado, Palm, Castor Bean, Safflower, Vegetable Glycerin, Purified Water, Essential Oils: Neem, Tea Tree, Rosemary, Sorbitol, Soybean Protein, Sorbitan Oleate, Fragrance.

Prior to using the Neem Tea Tree Shampoo Bar for the first time, I had no idea what expectations to go into this with. This was something new to me and I was excited, yet anxious all at the same time. I'm typically used to using liquid shampoos or co-washes but this was something totally different; I mean, it's a block of soap for your hair! (Who knew?) I was just coming out of a three week protective style and my dry, thirsty hair was in serious need of some moisture and rejuvenation. I hadn't done much detangling prior to taking out my crochet protective style, just some light finger detangling with some hair oil I had laying around.

I cut a chunk off the Neem Tea Tree Shampoo Bar, then I got in the shower and thoroughly wet my hair like I typically would when preparing to cleanse. I wet the bar and began rubbing it onto my scalp in order to create a lather. Much to my dismay there was no lather and my hair still felt gross and oily. Before disappointment could fully creep in and take a seat on it's throne I decided to do a second shampoo because like liquid shampoo, sometimes a second wash is needed for the product to fully lather up. After rinsing off the first shampoo wash and rubbing the bar onto my scalp again I found the lather I was looking for (insert victory screech). I was utterly amazed at how much the shampoo lathered on contact once I gave it a second try; the lather had a silky feel on my hair and I was able to fully finger detangle with the shampoo in my hair before rinsing it out. I can't quite place my finger on it, but this shampoo has a nice, fresh scent to it that I really enjoy. The verdict: I had clean, tangle free hair that was ready for detangling and conditioning. I am remarkably pleased.

Babassu Detangling Contditioner

Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Vegetable Glycerin, Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate, Orbignya Oleifera (Babassu) Seed Oil, Centrimonium Chloride, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Stearamidoprropyl Dimenthylamine, Panthenol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Phtalate-Free Fragrance, (Parfum).

Detangling my hair with the Babassu Detangling Conditioner was fairly easy considering the shampoo did most of the work for it. This conditioner has a ton of slip so it was extremely easy for the comb to glide through my hair. I do advise caution when using this conditioner though because the bottle can slip right out of your hand when shaking the product out, so be careful with that. After shampooing, I applied this product to my hair in sections and let it sit for about 20 minutes with heat on my hair and I am very glad I did. My hair was left feeling soft, yet strengthened thanks to this product. My only gripe with using this conditioner is the fact that I am quite heavy handed when it comes to using hair products and I used a lot of this in one wash day, so I am going to use what's left of it as a leave-in conditioner since it's light enough to do so. This conditioner has a very nice scent to me, but like the shampoo I can't really describe what scent that is.
